New regional land use partnerships

General News

The Scottish Government has today announced an extended pilot of Regional Land Use Partnerships (RLUPs) covering Cairngorms National Park, Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park, North East and South of Scotland. Previous pilot areas were in Aberdeenshire and the Borders.

We are supportive in principle of Regional Land Use Partnerships, and look forward to engaging with them and enabling a successful partnership approach. The tools the partnerships have to guide and support land management choices will be critical to their success, and we look forward to more detail being published on this in the near future.  Given one of the key aims for the RLUPs is to tackle the climate emergency and biodiversity crisis, there is an urgent need to clarify their working and give clear signals to rural businesses.
