The Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust are the leading UK charity conducting conservation science to enhance the British countryside for public benefit. For over 80 years we have been researching and developing game and wildlife management techniques. We use our research to provide training and advice on how best to improve the biodiversity of the countryside. Through our annual art competitions promoted across Scotland we engage with the younger generations, promoting game and wildlife, inviting them to 'illustrate a British species in its natural habitat'. All mediums are accepted, and creativity is encouraged.
It is well known that the young engage less today with their rural surroundings than ever before, GWCT aim to instil an interest in British wildlife through creativity, by encouraging engagement in game and wildlife through art we hope to deepen their interest and encourage further research into British game and wildlife. In the long run we hope young people will develop a deeper passion and knowledge which can then be passed to future generations.
