With the South of Scotland Enterprise, the Borderlands Growth Deal, Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere and the South of Scotland Destination Alliance already in place to help enhance biodiversity and increase and encourage tourism is there a need for a Galloway National Park?

However, with the joint pledge from the SNP and the Greens to designated at least one new national park within the next 5 years is it an opportunity not to be missed for Dumfries & Galloway?

Join us for a members roundtable event on Thursday 9th December at 10am, chaired by Jason Rust, SLE`s Legal Advisor for an update on the proposed Galloway National Park from members from the GNP Association and speakers from Loch Lomond and the Trossachs and Cairngorms National Parks.

This members event is the ideal opportunity to gain an overview of the progress of the proposed GNP and put questions to our panel of guest speakers.

Joining the roundtable will be –

  • Rob Lucas (GNPA Chair), Andrew Pym and Mark Gibson (Galloway National Park Association)
  • Patrick Colquhoun (Luss Estate)- The experience of running an estate in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park
  • Grant Moir, Chief Executive of Cairngorms National Park
  • Simon Ovenden, SLE Policy Advisor, Access and Visitor Management

There will be the opportunity to ask our panel of speakers questions but please feel free to submit any questions if you are unable to attend.
