Join our next virtual members’ event on Zoom to hear an update on visitor management plans for Argyll, which will take place Monday 26 April from 2pm – 3pm.

We will be joined by Fergus Murray, Head of Economic Development for Argyll and Bute Council, who will outline the local authority's key objectives in tackling visitor management and how you can get support for partnership projects to help tackle some of the challenges and create opportunities for the season ahead. There will also be an SLE policy update on the subject and a chance to ask questions during the session.

Due to the pandemic and changes in visitor behaviour, staycations are an upward trend which looks to continue throughout 2021 and beyond. While we welcome the increased footfall of visitors it also brings its own challenges. Visitors require the infrastructures to enjoy the countryside and be encouraged to respect and look after the land.

Water provision, empty waste water, rubbish and the infrastructure underpinning this across the region need to be carefully considered. Responsibly welcoming visitors with sufficient and sustainable infrastructure provision.

How can landowners help with providing some of these solutions? It is recognised by the main stakeholders that it will take a private/public sector approach and all the multiple agencies working together along with landowners
