Clare started at SLE in July 2018 as Regional Support Officer for the South East region as well as Regional Coordinator of the other four regions. 

Clare joined SLE from the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs (SAYFC), where she served as Agri and Rural Affairs Manager. Prior to her time at SAYFC, Clare worked for Members of Parliament at Westminster, focusing particularly on agricultural policy, and previously worked in public affairs in Brussels and London within the pharmaceutical and aviation industries, acquiring significant experience in lobbying. 
Having grown up on a farm in Devon she has a keen interest in land management and rural issues and has a BA Honours degree in Politics and an MSc in International Social Policy. 

Clare works closely with headquarters’ staff based at Musselburgh as well as our regional chairman for the south east, Trevor Jackson of Charlesfield Farms near Melrose.

If you were a Scottish animal, which would you be and why?
A red deer. They are sociable, not too pesky and happy with the Scottish weather.

What do very few people know about you?
That I have a secret Nutella addiction. One spoon and it can easily get out of hand!

Which three words best describe your outlook on life?
Optimistic, driven and rambunctious.

Tartan or tweed? Why?
Tweed for now but I will soon have a tartan I can wear!
