Scottish Land & Estates hosted its London members gathering at the Caledonian Club last night for over 90 guests. Sponsored by Brodies LLP, Bidwells and Chiene + Tait, the event was a great success enabling members to be updated on the changes ongoing within Scottish Land & Estates to increase the visibility and engagement of Scottish estates. Each of the sponsors took time to inform guests on topical issues within their specialist area, which included the impacts of the (Scotland) Bill, general taxation issues and the current Scottish property market.
Chief Executive Douglas McAdam said of the event: 'this year's London gathering was the most successful one we've organised and I was delighted by the turn out. Over 90 members and professionals attended and took a very active part, which is hugely encouraging for us: it shows that members are taking a keen interest in issues that matter and that we as an organisation are doing the right thing. It is vital that we continue to get the message out to members and the wider public, of the important role Scottish estates play and the contribution that they make both within their communities and across Scotland. It was an ideal time for us to inform members and I was very pleased with the excellent input from our 3 sponsors. There was also a very good number of sons and daughters of members, which was especially good to see as they are the future of estates.'
