AGRICULTURAL CENSUS - TENANCY STATISTICS (2005 - 2011)

A paper has been published which presents statistics of the number of agricultural holdings with different types of tenancy agreements, generated from the June Agricultural Census for the period 2005 to 2011. It updates the last set of statistics covering the period 2005 to 2008, which were published in June 2009.

The main purpose of these statistics is to monitor the uptake of Short Limited Duration Tenancies (SLDTs) and Limited Duration Tenancies (LDTs) which were introduced following the Agricultural Holdings (Scotland) Act 20032. They also show trends in 1991 Act Tenancies, 1991 Act Limited Partnership Agreements and in Small Landholder Act Tenancies.
