“Local people delivering local change” is a key message found with the Scotland’ Regeneration Strategy published this week. Achieving a Sustainable Future http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Resource/Doc/364595/0123891.pdf , sets out a £175 million programme of investment to support the country's most disadvantaged communities, transforming the prospects of the people who live there.
The Scottish Government acknowledge that deprivation is not solely felt within the city regions and that the rural areas of Scotland face their own issues. Therefore the Strategy sets out a variety of measures aimed at supporting the rural community including,
· Accessible transport
· Embracing a digital revolution
· A Land reform agenda
· Delivery rural education
