Scottish Land & Estates to sit on Bracken Control Group

Scottish Land & Estates has been invited to sit on the newly formed Bracken Control Group. This group has been established in response to the banning of asulam, but will also consider all bracken control issues and techniques. The Group is being co-ordinated by Simon Thorp, Director of the Heather Trust, and will circulate up-to-date information about the impact of the asulam ban and the opportunities to continue controlling bracken.

Scottish Land & Estates has prepared an Information Sheet (http://www.scottishlandandestates.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=817:asulam-&catid=92:moorland-group&Itemid=125) containing all of the key information which members should be aware of regarding asulam. Of particular importance is the fact that you must order asulam before 31st December 2011 because after this date it will no longer be available for sale. Furthermore, all stocks of asulam must be used by 31st December 2012. Therefore, Scottish Land & Estates recommends that members contact their suppliers as soon as possible in order to ensure they can spray next year.
