Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Scottish Association of Landlords this week held the largest landlord conference in the UK. National Landlord Day held at Our Dynamic was host to over 300 delegates and 40 exhibition stalls.
Housing Minister, Keith Brown, highlighted Scottish Government’s policy priorities for the private rented sector and informed delegates of the importance of new Private Rented Sector National Strategy in which Scottish Land & Estates are involved. The Minister gave time to questions and stressed the importance of engaging with the Scottish Government.
The programme included presentations on the importance of detailed inventories, taxation and the state of the Scottish letting market. During a ‘Question Time’ style panel debate the panel were grilled on the forthcoming tenancy deposit schemes - likely to be licensed early 2012 – and questions were focused on the increasing number of regulations imposed on landlords in delivering housing.
