Community Land Scotland - urban community ownership report

Community Land Scotland have published research on Urban Community Landownership in Scotland in 2018.  The research highlights that urban communities face a different set of challenges to rural communities including high land values; low awareness of the potential of community ownership; a lack of geographically based community bodies and a complex environment in terms of support, planning and access to land.

The publication also suggests tackling these challenges by; improving awareness of community landownership in urban areas; providing more intensive support for the early urban community landowners and joining up policy at a Scottish and local authority level.
