Rural Tourism Infrastructure Fund

The Scottish Government officially launched its £6 million rural tourism infrastructure fund on Friday 30 March 2018. The fund will be administered and managed by VisitScotland with final applications being restricted to local authorities and the two National Park authorities. There is a strong requirement for all applications to show consultation, input and support from local community organisations.
 
The types of project that could be supported include parking, camping facilities, disposal points (especially for camper vans) and toilet provision. Successful applications must demonstrate the following:
  • An enhanced visitor experience
  • A sustainable approach
  • Community capacity building
  • Effective partnerships and collaboration
  • Project viability and deliverability
