Farm practice in goose scheme areas – contract awarded

The aim of this contract is to collect data about farming practice in goose scheme areas so that SNH can verify some of the assumptions that we have used to calculate goose scheme payments.   This will help to inform payment rate calculations for any future schemes (after the current schemes close in 2021), and will help to demonstrate we are meeting the verification requirements of State Aid.  Vyv will be working with data supplied annually by goose scheme participants and by farmers with comparator farms.  At the end of this contract LGMGs and the NGMRG will be provided with a report detailing the key findings from the contract.
Vyv Wood-Gee who has been awarded the contract to gather information about farm practice in goose scheme areas.  Vyv has a very strong farming background, based in Dumfriesshire she has undertaken a good number of contracts with farming communities, and a range of organisations, including NFUS.
All Chairs of LGMGs have been notified to the start of the ‘Farm practice in goose schemes areas contract’ and have been introduced to Vyv Wood-Gee and to ask for their help in welcoming Vyv to the local farming community.
