Visit to Craigengillan Estate

A small group of  hardy SLE members visited Craigengillan Estate on Tuesday 27 February on what was a very cold day.
Members were welcomed by host SLE member Mark Gibson and given a brief account of Craigengillan before proceeding out and about to see around the estate.
Members were shown the restored holiday cottages - all of which had been restored with respect to the estate's history and location, next on the agenda was a visit to see hedge laying and also a visit to the very spectacular Dalcairnie waterfall.  After a brilliant lunch members were shown the extensive planting of new native woodlands and also paid a visit to the Scottish Dark Sky Observatory and Planetarium finally finishing off with a visit to see the estate's gardens.
Special thanks to Mark for being such a great host and for making everyone so welcome on the visit and for providing a great lunch!
