Scottish Land & Estates evidence to the ECCLR Committee

This week saw the Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform Committee hold an evidence session on the environmental implications for Scotland of the United Kingdom leaving the European .
Andrew Midgley, Policy & Research Manager, gave evidence for Scottish Land & Estates on a panel with representatives from NFUS, RSPB, Scottish Environment Link and WWF.
The committee sought views on the development and implementation of common or shared frameworks associated with Brexit. The session explored: 
  • The nature, scale and number of potential shared frameworks that may relate to work within the remit of the ECCLR Committee and likely issues that these could cover; 
  • the principles that should be used to guide the development of such frameworks; 
  • the form could such frameworks take; and 
  • potential shared governance arrangements for such frameworks.
