Visit to Craigengillan Estate

Members are invited to attend a visit to Craigengillan Estate on 27 February 2018 - 10am to 2.30pm.

Come along and see the restoration work and hear first-hand from Mark Gibson the challenges and achievements and see a model of environmental excellence.

While at Craigengillan we will visit the Scottish Dark Sky Observatory and Planetarium. Mark played a key role in helping this remarkable project come to fruition.

10.00-10.30 Meet at Craigengillan House for tea/coffee and biscuits, welcome and brief account of Craigengillan.

10.30-11.30 - Proceed to holiday cottages, Ness Glen and viewpoint. Fuller account of what we are about and what we are trying to achieve.

11.30-13.00 - See hedge laying, Dalcairnie Waterfall and have picnic lunch.

13.00 -13.30 See extensive new planting of new native woodlands.

13.30-14.30 Return to Craigengillan House with a stop on the way to visit the Scottish Dark Sky Observatory and Planetarium (Observatory Manager).  See the restoration of gardens.
