Simplified Planning Zones and equivalent mechanisms outwith Scotland: research report

The recently published Programme for Government 2017-18 (Sept 2017) highlights proposals for planning reform include actions to support inclusive growth and investment such as a new approach to Simplified Planning Zones. To support the Planning Review the Scottish Government commissioned research on use of SPZs, tasked to explore issues currently limiting wider uptake of SPZs and to identify ways these could be overcome. The research provides case studies looking at consenting approaches used elsewhere in the UK and Europe. The report is available on here.
