Scottish Land & Estates is currently looking for members to represent land management interests at local access forum and countryside trust level.
Stirling and Scottish Borders Local Access Forums are without a Scottish Land & Estates member representative and we would like to recruit a suitable member to represent land management interests on each of these forums.
Each forum aims to have a balance of land management and recreational access takers, along with other relevant local community and agency representation. It’s important that land management issues are raised and understood at a local level, so that Scotland’s access legislation can continue to be implemented in the reasonable and balanced way it was intended. Access forums usually meet 3 or 4 times a year.
The Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust is also keen to recruit an enthusiastic Perthshire landowner onto its Executive Committee. The Countryside Trust undertake work to enhance the outdoor recreation opportunities in Perthshire for both locals and tourists. The Trust secures funds from a variety sources to enable this work to be carried out. The landowner representative would be required to attend 4 meetings per year, each last half a day, offer support with events, openings and launches and become involved in sub-groups as appropriate.
