Survey on natural disturbance risks to forests: your assistance requested

Susan Davies, a Knowledge Exchange Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, is conducting a survey on attitudes to natural disturbance risk to forests (including wind, fire, pest and diseases, drought, snow/hail and so forth) and information requirements from a wide range of forest stakeholders and would very much appreciate your input.

Her work focuses on identifying, adapting and translating academic research on natural disturbance risks to forests to be of use to forest stakeholders including insurers, investors, forest owners/managers, carbon standards, and advisers. Her work is entirely funded by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) which is keen to increase the impact of the research that it supports through the dissemination of freely available outputs.

Participants will be given a free summary of the survey results but individual responses will not be attributable back to named participants. This research will help inform the direction of the Fellowship and the results will be fed back to NERC and relevant academics to influence the direction of future research. The results are also intended to inform the development of an open-source publication (i.e. freely available).

The survey closes on 30 April 2017 but she would appreciate responses at the earliest convenience. If you would like to take part, the survey can be accessed by clicking on the following link.
