Concerns raised over Brexit impact on tourism

At a Scottish Government debate on the impact of Brexit to culture, creative industries and tourism concerns were raised about the affect leaving the EU could have on labour supply. Cabinet Secretary for Culture and Tourism, Fiona Hyslop MSP, said 21,000 tourism staff in Scotland were from the EU – equating to 17% of the sector. Ms Hyslop expressed concerns that Brexit could undermine the resilience of our tourism sector if limitations are imposed on labour supply. Minister for UK Negotiations on Scotland’s Place in Europe Michael Russell MSP echoed these concerns at the Cross Party Group on Tourism.
