Cairngorms National Park Local Development Plan 2020: call for sites and ideas

The Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA) has begun preparing its next Local Development Plan (LDP) which will direct development within the Cairngorms National Park for the period 2020-2025 and into the longer term.

CNPA are now looking for sites that can be considered for allocation as new development land within the new LDP, and have opened a ‘call for sites and ideas’ process.

The call for sites and ideas allows anyone with an interest in the development of land to propose sites for which they have an aspiration for development. Sites can be submitted for a range of potential uses, including housing, employment or other developments such as tourism or community facilities. This is an important stage in preparing the LDP as it can help identify potential development opportunities at an early stage.

Should you be interested in submitting potential development sites for consideration through this process, you can find full guidance about the call for sites and ideas process on our website at www.cairngorms.co.uk/park-authority/planning, where you can also access the form that you will need to complete to submit any sites for consideration. The deadline for submitting completed forms is 5pm on Friday 3 February 2017.

Please note that the CNPA will not automatically include the sites submitted to us in the LDP, but we will assess all of the sites put forward. The results of this site assessment will accompany the LDP Main Issues Report, which we expect to publish for consultation in Spring 2017.
