Opportunities for 2017 Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology

As part of the Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology, members are reminded that the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) is offering grants of £3,000 to £10,000 to projects that engage a new range of people with their history through Stories, Stones and Bones. The deadline to apply to Stories, Stones and Bones is Tuesday 31 January 2017 for decisions in March 2017.

From World Heritage Sites to ancient monuments, listed buildings to historic battlefields, cultural traditions to our myths, stories, and legends, the 2017 Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology will shine a spotlight on Scotland's greatest assets and icons, as well as our hidden gems.

A 2017 Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology Toolkit is now live on visitscotland.org. This features the logo, free-to-use images and promotional wording. An official logo has been designed to provide a cohesive, overarching brand for the year. The logo suite and accompanying brand guidelines can be downloaded from visitscotland.org.
