Westminster Committee Recommends Reintroduction of LESA

Westminster has a new Fuel Poverty Committee which is in place to advice the UK Government on policies aimed at reducing fuel poverty in England. However, many of the recommendations will affect the whole of the UK. The committee has published its first report which can be found here.  One of the recommendations is that the Landlord’s Energy Savings Allowance – a former tax allowance on energy saving expenditure by landlords – is re-introduced. Scottish Land & Estates joined a campaign coalition on the run up to the 2015 budget to save LESA. There are now efforts being made to re-establish this coalition to push for recommendation 7 to become reality.
