Lynx Working Group

Late last week, Scottish Land & Estates attended the second Lynx Working Group Meeting – a group established to provide the National Species Reintroduction Forum (NSRF) with the necessary information to enable lynx reintroduction proposals to be assessed in a fair, balanced and evidence based fashion. The lynx working group is not an advocacy group for or against lynx translocations.

At the meeting key issues requiring consideration for any application to reintroduce lynx to Scotland were discussed. These included benefits of any translocation project, biological and socio-economic risks.

The group will submit a paper to the NSRF that complements the NSRF Best Practice Guidelines for Conservation Translocations in Scotland.
