Regulations on Abandoned, Neglected or Detrimental Land

The Scottish Government has now analysed the responses to its consultation on secondary legislation for abandoned, neglected or detrimental land under the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 and the summary can be found here...

51 responses were received in total, 49 from organisations including Scottish Land & Estates and 2 from individuals.  Scottish Land & Estates response to the consultation is quoted several times in the summary document.  It was found by Scottish Government that just over two-thirds of respondents agreed with the types of land eligible for purchase by a Part 3A community body and just over three-quarters agreed on land pertaining to an individual’s home.  However over half the respondents disagreed with the compensation proposals.
