Solway Tweed River Basin Plan Approved

SEPA has received approval from the UK Government to publish the cross-border Solway Tweed river basin management plan. It has been published on SEPA’s web pages alongside the Scotland plan.  River basin management plans set out the broad range of actions that will be taken to improve the water quality and physical condition of rivers so that they meet the standards set out by the EU Water Framework Directive.

The river basin management plan is supported by SEPA’s new Water environment hub and a series of technical appendices.  The hub, amongst other things, provides an interactive map tool giving easily accessible information on the status of water bodies.
