Extension Of Pentland Hills Regional Park rejected

The Scottish Parliament this week voted down a private member’s bill brought forward by Christine Grahame, MSP.  The Bill proposed extending the Pentland Hills Regional Park to include the whole of the Pentland Hills range.  However the proposal did not demonstrate demand for the extension nor, crucially, identify funding for it.  Scottish Land & Estates and NFU Scotland worked together to brief MSPs on our concerns and provide written and oral evidence on behalf of members in the area.  We are very pleased with the outcome and we issued a joint press statement earlier this week.
