Pentland Hills Park extension evidence session

Policy Officer, Anne Gray, gave evidence at Holyrood this week to the Pentland Hills Regional Park Boundary Bill Committee.  Backing up our written evidence, Anne told the Committee she was unaware of public demand for the extension and that she strongly believed that funding for the extension needed to be clearly identified before the Bill proceeded.  The five local authorities that would cover the proposed extension area all said they would be unable to support the extension without funding being available for it.  The Committee also heard from NFU Scotland, Scottish Natural Heritage and Ramblers Scotland.  The full evidence session can be seen at - http://www.scottishparliament.tv/.  The Committee has two further evidence sessions before preparing a report on the matter, with a Stage 1 debate likely to take place in the new year.
