The RACCE Committee has written to Richard Lochhead to urge him to tackle the lack of progress and impact on tenants and landlords affected by the Agricultural Holdings (Scotland) Act 2003 Remedial Order 2014 which resulted from the Supreme Court ruling relating to the Salvesen v Riddell case.
Until the Committee is reassured there is real progress towards resolution and fair settlement it is calling for progress updates from the Cabinet Secretary as often as required and, as a minimum, on a fortnightly basis, from 7 October.
Rob Gibson MSP, Convener of the Committee said:
“The Scottish Government committed at the outset to playing a central role in trying to minimise any negative impact on tenant and landlords, and to fully fund and participate in the mediation process. But this did not appear to happen.”
