This week saw a debate on the fortunes of Scottish farming in the Scottish Parliament.
Members highlighted the problems in specific sectors, such as dairy, and pointed to the need for the public to support our farmers by ensuring that they buy Scottish produce.
A wide range of issues were raised, including the need to address retailer power in the supply chain, the need for greater cooperation amongst farmers and the need to focus on quality products and adding value.
A major issue for many members was also the desire to see at least partial payment of farm support in December.
