Wildlife Estates Scotland continues to grow

2015 has seen good growth for Wildlife Estates Scotland (WES) so far, with a further twelve members reaching full accreditation, bringing the total number to thirty properties and nearly 300,000 hectares of land managed to WES standards. 6 more properties are under assessment at the moment, and the WES team is working with over 20 further applicants, ranging from the south-west right to the north of Scotland.

Our first annual report has been well received, but we identify areas that we must continue to work on. Nevertheless, we hope it demonstrates that private land management can play a key role in delivery of public benefits, particularly in respect of Scotland's Land Use and Biodiversity strategies. A copy of the report can be found here...

With greater participation, the information flowing from reporting will remain a persuasive tool in showing the value of our work to biodiversity and the rural economy. If you haven't considered WES accreditation to date, but are interested in learning more about the scheme and requirements, we will be very pleased to send you a brochure or discuss the initiative with you.
