Scotland's Peatland Plan launched

Scottish Natural Heritage has today (28 August) launched Scotland’s National Peatland Plan.  The Plan has been developed in collaboration with a range of organisations including Scottish Land & Estates. It has long term aims and sets out aspirations to see degraded peatlands restored to functioning ecosystem which contributes to climate change mitigation, biodiversity, water quality improvement and flooding management.  A National Peatland Group will be set up to take forward the actions identified in the Plan.
