Policy & Lobbying

The Scottish Government has consulted upon the future of the Scottish Agricultural Wages Board. The consultation asked if the Board should continue in its current form; be retained as an advisory body to the Scottish Ministers; or if all existing arrangements should be removed for agricultural workers and for their pay and conditions to be determined by general employment law.  Scottish Land & Estates supports the removal of the Board as it is believed current employment legislation can adequately protect agricultural workers as it does all other employees.
