The Scottish Enterprise Rural Leadership Programme is open for applications, for the ninth run of the programme to be held between late October 2015 and early March 2016. It offers a great opportunity for rural business people to improve their confidence, decision making, delegation, communication and making a difference in the rural sector. The 380 graduates who have already completed the programme found it a fantastic, often life changing experience which has given them the confidence to make bold decisions, adapt and create new innovative enterprises, lobby in parliament and to aid succession of family businesses, to name just a few. Previous participants also valued the opportunity to mix with people running a diverse range of rural businesses. The programme is aimed at motivated, ambitious people running small to medium rural businesses, located in the Scottish Enterprise area (not Highlands and Islands) who are looking to develop leadership capabilities and grow their businesses.
The programme includes 12 days of events including workshops on leadership, individual focus sessions, effective communication workshops and “Apprentice Style” innovation projects as well as learning journeys to the Scottish Parliament, London and Brussels. Places for this highly successful programme are limited and highly sought after, with a closing date of Tuesday 10th September.
