UK Government announce end of subsidies for new onshore wind farms

From April 2016, new subsidies for onshore wind farms across the UK will end.

Reaction to the announcement is mixed with the renewables industry voicing concerns over the likely drop in future investment in onshore wind.  However, there are many groups who feel that Scotland’s rural communities couldn’t cope with yet more subsidised development.
