Who's Watching Who - Walk & Talk event

The first Rural Security Walk & Talk event for the South East took place at Saughland in Midlothian on Thursday 23 April, hosted by Richard Callendar and Police Scotland with support from Scottish Land & Estates.

Around 20 members took part in the event to discuss issues in the area, share intel and look at potential solutions to problems - including the proposal for a new Rural Watch for the area.  Fire Scotland were also present to look at the issues of fire raising on rural estates and farms.

It is hoped that further discussion will take place to look at adapting the current Rural Watch scheme to encourage greater involvement from rural businesses and landmanagers.
