There are two motions which have been lodged recently at the Scottish Parliament which may be of interest to members:
Motion S4M-12634 lodged by Graeme Dey of the Scottish National Party congratulates Callum Low, from Arbroath, on being named the winner of the Land-based and Aquaculture Learner of the Year Award at the 12th annual Lantra Scotland Land-based and Aquaculture Learner of the Year ceremony. The motion goes on to commend Callum on also winning the Game and Wildlife Trainee of the Year and Modern Apprentice of the Year awards. Callum was nominated by the college not only because of what it sees as his raw talent, but also due to him showing responsibility, maturity and a level of leadership beyond his years.
Motion S4M-12581 lodged by Rob Gibson, also of the Scottish National Party, asks the Parliament to welcome the North Highland Initiative’s project to create coastal route (CR) 500. The motion brings attention to the fact that the 500-mile road route passes through Ross-shire, Sutherland and Caithness, which possess a multitude of iconic vistas as well as a rich, varied and ultimately fascinating history and culture, and hopes that this initiative helps raise the profile of the North Highlands and bring increased tourism to this area.
