Gamekeepers ensure grouse season gets off to a flying start

Gamekeepers across the north and north-east were hoping for a healthy shooting season despite fears that bad weather would hit grouse numbers.

Estates in Aberdeenshire appear to be bucking expectations with bird populations looking healthy yesterday – the day which is otherwise known as the Glorious Twelfth, start of the grouse-shooting season.

Early predictions had suggested wet weather may have hampered the chances of a good shoot in parts of the region this year.  To read more click here.
