Warning funding cuts will deepen housing crisis in the Highlands

 The Highlands’ largest housing association warned of a looming crisis yesterday as it can only build 50 new low-cost homes next year, due to funding cuts.

More than 11,000 people are currently on the waiting list for council and social housing in the region.

Albyn Housing chief executive Calum Macaulay called on the Scottish Government to find new methods of funding affordable housing as he announced an 85% cut in new developments yesterday.  To read more click here.
