Task Force on Land

The Deputy First Minister, John Swinney MSP has announced the setting up of a task force to consider registration of land and associated information as part of a new digital information system.

Sheenagh Adams, the Keeper of the Registers of Scotland will head up the group which will also comprise COSLA, the Improvement Service, Ordnance Survey and UNIFI.  The task force will work with stakeholders including the Law Society and RICS and Scottish Land & Estates has already written to the Keeper to express interest in engaging with the task force, which will produce a draft business case for the proposed digital “one stop shop” information service.  The aim is to improve accessibility and transparency of data through integration and to build on technological advances, allowing reduced transactional and searching time.
