PRS Lacking Supply

A survey of over 1000 tenants commissioned by Scottish Association of Landlords and Council of Letting Agents shows that 43% tenants surveyed found it ‘quite difficult’ or ‘very difficult’ to find appropriate private rented accommodation. While recognising the need to introduce measures to protect tenants from rogue landlords, the organisations are calling upon the Scottish Government to encourage investment in the PRS and give confidence to landlords. This includes the ability to evict tenants who display anti-social behaviour or abandon their properties so these properties can be let to responsible tenants and help meet the high demand.
