Scottish Land & Estates calls for the government to see sense on Sporting Estates

Ever since the Scottish Government released their definition of what they consider a sporting estate to be for the purposes of eligibility for direct farm support, Scottish Land & Estates has been highlighting that the definition will exclude many large and perfectly legitimate farming businesses and has been seeking to persuade the government that their plans will have negative consequences for Scottish agriculture as a whole. We continue to engage with the Scottish Government on this issue and will keep members informed as the detail of the rules is finalised prior to the forms and guidance being produced ahead of the claim process for next year.
