“Businesses are being urged to take part in a new study to assess the scale and potential of adventure tourism across Scotland. Adventure tourism includes activities such as biking, watersports, snowsports, walking, climbing and wildlife watching.
Public and private sector partners, led by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), have commissioned ekosgen, leading economic development consultants, the Centre for Recreation and Tourism Research at the University of the Highlands and Islands and Reference Economic Consultants to undertake the national research exercise to better understand the adventure tourism sector across Scotland.
The study aims to identify the scale of the sector and its opportunities for growth. It will also provide a better understanding of Scotland’s competitive advantage and how it is placed against some of the world’s top adventure tourism destinations.
If your business operates in the Adventure Tourism sector and would like to participate in the research, please complete the following short questionnaire: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Adventure_Tourism_Mapping_Questionnaire. Your details will then be inputted into our mapping database and you may be selected to participate in a more in-depth questionnaire later in the project if you consent to doing so. All information gathered will be treated as confidential and will only be used for the purpose of this study.”
