Planning Decision Time Improves

The figures for quarter one average planning times have been published by the Scottish Government. The report shows local planning decisions took on average 10.1 weeks to process in quarter one (April to June). This is the quickest since average time recording began in 2012.

There were a total of 7,855 local planning decisions. Local development applications include building alterations, developments of under 50 new homes.The average decision time for major applications in quarter one was 28.9 weeks. This is the quickest over the last 9 quarters. There were 86 major planning applications decided which continues the upward trend. Major developments include applications for over 50 homes and certain waste, water and transport developments amongst others.
