Ayrshire Rural Enterprise Award 2011
The Rural Enterprise Award is sponsored by Scottish Government and the European Community Ayrshire LEADER 2007-2013 Programme.
Ayrshire LEADER is delighted to be sponsoring this brand new award for Ayrshire that will celebrate and recognise enterprising rural communities. The LEADER Programme 2007-2013 has invested in excess of £3m into pan-Ayrshire rural development since inception in November 2008, supporting over 80 projects across a diverse range of activities. There is now a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate all things great about our rural communities.
This new award category will recognise the commitment of rural businesses and community groups in Ayrshire who can demonstrate a truly innovative and enterprising approach in addressing rural challenges, opportunities and development. Entrants will demonstrate excellence through any or all of the following: activities which demonstrate clear prospects for sustaining capacity, strengthening community facilities and services, improving economic and social participation by young people or supporting economic and environmental activities linking to tourism and leisure.
Please note – Applicants for this category must be based in mainland Ayrshire with population of less than 10k (so excludes main urban areas of Ayr, Prestwick, Troon, Kilmarnock, Irvine, Kilwinning and the 3 towns) unless the organisation is based in an urban area but has specifically delivered a project in a rural community.
