Scottish Land & Estates involved in new Historic Environment Forum

Details about the new forum set up to enhance and protect Scotland's Historic Environment have been released. The new forum will seek to encourage closer relations between historic bodies and heritage organisations and will be chaired by Cabinet Secretary Fiona Hyslop. The forum will have 15 members including our own Chairman, David Johnstone.

The forum has been designed to provide strategic advice and direction on the management and promotion of our rich historic environment and oversee delivery of 'Our Place in Time'. Other organisations included are Scottish Natural Heritage, National Trust for Scotland and the Scottish Council for Development and Industry.  The Chair of Historic Environmental Scotland—the new public body for the historic environment sector in Scotland—will be invited to join upon their appointment. The members widely represent all aspects of environmental and historic organisations as well as economists and architects.
