Scottish Land & Estates gives evidence to the Scottish Affairs Committee

The Scottish Affairs Committee took oral evidence this week at Westminster from Scottish Land & Estates and Historic Houses Association in respect of the Land Reform Inquiry it is undertaking.  We have previously submitted written evidence to the Inquiry.  The Committee intend to produce a report later this year with recommendations...

Sarah-Jane Laing, Director of Policy and Parliamentary Affairs appeared before the Committee alongside Nick Way, Director General of Historic Houses Association.  The session lasted over one and a half hours and covered a variety of areas including stance on land reform, types of land ownership, taxation reliefs and subsidies, the value of land and the contribution estates make to the rural economy.  We are providing the Committee with further information and will continue to engage with the process on behalf of members.
