POLICE NOTICE – Theft of High Value Tractor and Trailer, South West Fife

At about 2315 hours on Monday, 17 February 2014 a green John Deere 6830 tractor and a Red Rock Trailer were stolen from a farm in South West Fife. The keys for the tractor had been left in the ignition and the farmer was alerted by the sound of the tractor starting up and then moving off.

Fortunately both tractor and trailer were recovered a short distance away when they got stuck in a neighbouring field.

This, once again, highlights the fact that farms are vulnerable targets for thieves and extra precautions should be taken at all times to ensure that plant and machinery is as secure as possible. This includes removing keys from all vehicles and storing them in a secure place.

If you have any concerns about the security of your property or machinery in Fife, please do not hesitate to contact PC Fraser Laird for advice or a free security survey.
