Vacancy: General Manager, Comrie Croft

An exciting opportunity to join the Comrie Croft team on a 1 year contract, with the possibility of the job evolving into a permanent role.
 
Comrie Croft is a growing rural eco-tourism and leisure business including simple group and family accommodation, camping, nordic katas, mountain biking (shop, hire, trails, guiding, epairs), a shop and a seasonal café franchise. The company is owned by our team, their families and other local people (50 in total) we pride ourselves on providing a friendly, relaxed, green destination for low cost holidays, DIY events & weddings, and exploring the great outdoors.
 
We are ambitious to make an increasing contribution to our local community and environment and to grow in size and profitability. Our vision is to create a leading example of a living, working countryside including green homes, recreational opportunities and complementary businesses.
 
As part of our development we now seek a General Manager. The GM’s role is to lead, coordinate and support business operations, working closely with Andrew (business development and in overall charge) and the leaders of each individual business unit. The businesses’ and your own success here can be measured through customer satisfaction, awards, occupancy, turnover, reputation and ultimately profitability. The role takes on many of the responsibilities currently undertaken by Fee, one of our directors, who will go on maternity leave during April. The leaders of each business unit are: George (camping); Colin (Comrie Croft Bikes); Thelma (accommodation); and Fee (shop).
 
 
Overall responsibilities
• Group customer liaison/ reception/ enquiries
• Practical, on-the-ground team leadership and support
• Team coordination and making sure there are no gaps
• Environmental, health and safety management
• Administration
• Assisting with financial management
• Assisting with marketing/ social media
 
The right person for the job?
You are a people person able to thrive as part of a small team and enjoy going the extra mile to assist customers. Good at multi-tasking, with excellent IT, written and verbal communication skills. You are a good organiser.
