Water Resources Act provisions commence

The Water Resources (Scotland) Act 2013 was passed by the Scottish Parliament earlier this year. The Scottish Government is bringing it into effect through a number of commencement orders. The second of these orders comes into force on 21 December 2013 and commences sections 23 to 28 of the Act, which make provision in relation to Scottish Water’s functions; Part 4, which makes provision in relation to raw water quality; and Part 6, which makes provision in relation to the sewerage network.  The order can be viewed at http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ssi/2013/342/contents/made.  Scottish Land & Estates’ Information Sheet on the Water Resources (Scotland) Act 2013 is available on our website -  http://www.scottishlandandestates.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&id=93&Itemid=126&tag=1&type=3
